UCH-L5 is found associated with the 19S regulatory complex of the 26S proteasome, where it functions to cleave K48-linked poly-Ubiquitin chains from ubiquitinated substrates. UCH-L5 is also found as a component of the INO80 complex, where its activity is regulated by a mechanism involving ADRM1.
