Sample Collection and Processing
Human bone marrow (BM) MNCs are obtained by density centrifugation of BM cells.?? BM cells are drawn from the posterior iliac crest of normal human donors using a syringe containing anticoagulant.? BM cells are processed within 24-30 hours after collection. Donors have been screened to be negative for HIV, HBV, and HCV (see Certificate of Analysis).

Pre-Qualified for CFC Assays
These BM MNCs are functionally pre-qualified in a colony-forming cell (CFC) assay using

’s ColonyGEL? methylcellulose-based media.? The frequency of myeloid and erythroid

BM mononuclear cells are cryopreserved in CryoStor? CS5, a serum-free freezing medium. Cells are stable for long-term storage at -152

C is not recommended.? Once thawed, the cells must be used immediately and have a finite life span in culture.
