Axol Assay-Ready Expanded (ARE) Hepatocytes are primary human hepatocytes that have been expanded in vitro so large batch sizes (up to 2000 vials) are available, ensuring a reliable and consistent source of primary hepatocytes. They are ready-to-use and should be used directly for downstream applications. ARE Hepatocytes express CYP enzymes, are metabolically functional, are polarized and can be infected by the Hepatitis C virus.
