Description
Viscous HR? (High Resolution) is a?modestly water soluble viscosity probe specifically designed for fluorescence-based viscosity measurements in aqueous media. Viscous HR? shows both a fluorescence emission and lifetime dependence on solution / media viscosity (and subsequently the temperature dependence on viscosity), making it ideal for your aqueous viscosity applications, particularly for water-like viscosity values, i,e, 0.4 – 2 cP and beyond.
Viscous HR? is sold dry and is simply reconstituted by adding 100 ?L methanol and/or buffer. We recommend reconstituting with methanol and then adding this low volume to your larger aqueous sample. One vial of our Viscosity Probe will typically allow for 5 measurements to be undertaken: 100 ?L of methanol and/or buffer is typically added to each dry vial. Subsequently, 20 ?L aliquots diluted to 3 cm

in water (or other solvent), typically give an optical density > 0.1 at 340 nm (in water).
For optimum performance, probe vials should be stored at -2 to -8 C when not being used. Probe solutions should be used after dilution.
